Yup. There was also a bunch that you didn't see. Every entry in the moderation queue was spam. There wasn't a legitimate post in the queue.

Of course it's popular, just pay attention to its URL:

www . linux . org

What's more intuitive than this?!! :p

Heavy is the head that wears the crown.

(Really should be 'uneasy lies the head that wears a crown' as memory serves.)

And, here we go round the merry go round, ................again.

At least we now know what 'stimulates' the 502's

already reported ...numerous times.....been spamming for 1.5 hours (approx)

a third new one just come on line.. all tagged

Yeah, they're scared of me.

Gottem all for the moment (including the ones you don't see, lol)

Nite

I'm here early. (I have stuff to do this afternoon and it's raining so I don't feel like going for a drive.)

Once again, there were no legitimate posts in the queue. There were a bunch of spam entries that never got published, so I swung the spam banhammer.

I don't mind so much when they're in the queue and not posted to the public forum.

How about if reported posts get hidden until mods approve them?

That sounds reasonable but isn't really a function the forum software is equipped to do AFAIK.

Also, 'reasonable' often doesn't work in the real world. A malicious user could just go about reporting things, thousands of things, when no mod is online. Sure, we can ban 'em after the fact but we'd have hours worth of work to clean up the mess. This is not a paid position.

Understood.

I knew you will say that, so only established users should be able to do so.
But yes, software limitations suck.

We've had established users rage quit. I wouldn't put it past them to go on a reporting spree on their way out the door. One person with a half hour of free time could easily generate many hours worth of work.

I suppose there could then be a mythical switch that let us mods remove all reports from a single person with just a click... That'd be an acceptable solution perhaps.

Alas, this isn't something the software supports. You'd need a plugin. I'm not 100% certain that it could be done with a plugin, but maybe...

If you're curious, just go to the XenForo site and sign up to have a free trial. You can then examine the software we use on your own.
