Sound Problem

Newbie to Linux. Yay!!! Learning how to use need to find a good tutorial. My question is I just loaded Cinnamon on an old HP Pavilion G6 laptop and the sound is really low. I have adjusted the volume in all location that I know of. It is running

spci -v | grep -i audio

Any HELP!! Greatly appreciated. Remember I am a newbie put it in baby terms.
