So for some time now I've been having trouble with a few of my audio input devices. I have a Rode Rodecaster Pro and a BOSS RC-500, both of which I need to set up but my computer doesn't recognize either at all. I've searched around but haven't found the cause. I had a firmware problem on the past which was resolved but I'm not so sure that it still is firmware but I really have no idea.

Previous firmware issue

Can a newbie get a hand?

Are you using an AMD Chipset? if so I did see on this website - https://forum.level1techs.com/t/rodecaster-pro-bad-audio-out-solved/170601/9
the rodecaster pro works perfectly with a pcie usb card. it is unfortunately a hardware solution but assuming you’re on a desktop it’s a reasonably cheap one.
SOLUTION: Use the rodecaster with a non-amd chipset usb port - using a pcie card bypasses the amd usb chipset
From what else I gather it is a BIOS Bug for AMD

Forgive my ignorance. What is a chipset?

edit: my amateur self education has informed me that yes, I am using an AMD chipset. I found the hardware solution you mentioned. Forgive my asking dumb questions in the presence of a search engine. Thanks for your help man.

Basically a chipset in an integrated circuit known as a "Data Flow Management System" that manages the flow of data between the processor, memory and peripherals.
