Good day,
I am trying to install projectlibre on my computer in Linux Mint Cinnamon, but so far none of the "how to" directions have worked for me. It is not available in the Software manage but I do have it down loaded in my download folder as projectlibre_1.5.7-7.deb. Any suggestions?

you should have Gdebi-cor installed in mint, this is the deb package installer, normally you find your .deb package in the download file [unless you put it elsewhere] you right click and the fist line should be install using deb, if not you may have to select other and look for instal with deb, if it doesn't start to install you probably have a corrupt download

It is apparently installed, bur when I launch it from my software manager, it gives me an error message.

looks like the download is corrupt in some way, try again, from an approved source,

I have just downloaded from https://sourceforge.net/projects/projectlibre/files/latest/download and installed with the deb installer no problems [now to delete it]
In this instance it is not the libre installation, but the gdebi and gdebi-core that do not want to launch from my software manager. Both give the same error message. I do not get to the GUI that alows me to select what I want to install. I have uninstalled it and installed it again. No difference.

I also now went to the downloaded file, right clicked and opened it in gdebi, tells me it is already installed, and allows me to reinstall. No error message. That keeps on happening every time I try and open it from the menu as well now. I did download the version from your download link as well, no difference. My original is an older version, and me telling it to reinstall tells me there is a newer version installed.

I now removed and reinstalled Gdebi. I then removed Projectlibre and reinstalled it with Gdebi (screenshot). I then tried to open it and got the second screenshot about the same version already installed and the reinstall button.

gdebi always shows the same version already installed blurb.

Will the app open from the menu?....is it listed in the menu?.....if it is in the menu, single click its name there

Your first photo is a Gdebi error - gdebigtk object has no attribute label action
What is the output of
gdebi-gtk
you can install it through the terminal - just right-click inside the folder where your deb package is stored and Open Terminal Here
now type in
sudo dpkg -i projectlibre_1.9.3-1.deb

@Erik Groothuijzen , don't try to launch it from Software Manager, use your Menu.

Click Menu, start to type in libre...

it will auto-complete, may show Libre Office as well.

Choose the Project Manager one and see what happens.

Wizard

Gdebi and gdebi-core are both installed. When I click on that the installer button comes up as installed and when I click the launch button the error messScreenshot from 2024-07-17 09-19-08.pngage comes up.

Hi all, Thank you for your assistance and inputs. It would seem that my problems were with my machine and Mint. I scratched everything and went to Linux MX, and voila, all my problems disappeared! No more keyboard lagging, no more volume problems, scanner works, printer works, ProjectLibre is installed and everything is honky dory. Took me a while but at least I got the desired results.

I noticed that you'd changed the title to mark it solved. I've properly done so on your behalf.

In your first post, you can choose Edit, click No Prefix and choose Solved.

Cheers
