So I ran a "sudo pacman -Syu" update and this popped up.

Loading Linux linux …
Loading initial ramdisk …
error: file ‘/boot/initramfs-zen.img’ not found

Press any key to continue…

I can still load into Arch from standard kernel but the zen kernel appears to have been broken by the update.

Is there a way to repair the zen kernel or perhaps uninstall it and start again?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

SOLVED (sort of):

sudo pacman -Rsu linux-zen linux-zen-headers

sudo grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg

Removed Zen kernel and regenerated grub then moved to LTS. Did not reinstall Zen kernel. Maybe it would work with Zen reinstall-not sure? Maybe worth a try if this happens to you?

My bad, I should have said why I asked.

If you are a Timeshift user, there is a problem its GUI has with a package called glib2 and if you have the 2.74 version, you will be affected, likely.

Hi Chris,

All good. The backup software? No, I have not used timeshift.

I have seen documented cases of this happening to other users. Its Arch after all so, you know.....

That said, it proved pretty easy to get things back up and running.

Cheers.
