Site not secure

But wait... there's more! :eek::D

I saw a post from @Condobloke (before Wizard also posted) and the security icon was not partially broken. That made me think a little harder, and I'm not very good at that anymore.

So I don't think the hack described in the other thread may be necessary. The URL to the graphic in Brian's signature uses https, and that may be the simple solution. The URL to the graphic in Wizard's signature uses http only.

Yeah, I'm looking at you Chris! :p:D If you would modify the BB Code in your signature to call up the imgur.com graphic with https, that might do the trick.

Or, as we all know, I may be full of crap! :confused::eek::D:D

Cheers mates

All you have to do on imgur to get your pics on the https is to make all your folders hidden so others on imgur can't see them when they browse the site. I just checked my images and they are all set to https. All my personal folders are set to "Hidden" on imgur.

All good for me now, see other Thread. I simply linked to the uploaded attachment I had made earlier, and which is now on this site.

My Imgur has always been set to https, see below

Hmmm. With Firefox, if you right-click on an image (or other things) you can choose "Inspect Element." As of yesterday, this showed the URL to your signature image as http instead of https for the imgur image. That's what showed me the difference between your sig images and Brian's. But no matter now. All the posts I've looked at briefly this morning show the fully secured padlock icon. :cool::D

Cheers

I guess the bottom line is that padlock.

The screenshot illustrates I have over 1,000 pictures there, and about half of them have been placed at this site. I have only looked at a bunch of Threads featuring them, since I modified my signature, but all Threads checked show as secure with the padlock.

Cheers

just a further thought on the weird connection dramas I occasionally experience. This screenshot was taken last night...approx 17 hours ago.

t night and all of today....trying to access any topic at linux.org (bear in mind I am located in South East Asia)

I have then started a vpn connection via Singapore....and have NO problem connecting....like wise from anywhere else in the world that I can access a server from on a vpn

Maybe this area of the world is where the "shut down " attack came from ??

@Rob would be the best person to ponder this methinks.
