Setting Linux Security Module --- Smack

Hello everyone!
Recently I've been studying the Linux Security Module-----Smack.
I want to close the default LSM SELinux and start with Smack.
My system is fedora 13 with Linux kernel 2.6.38 and I've done some work:
1、Modify the /etc/selinux/config-------set 'SELINUX=disabled';
2、Enter the kernel content and execute 'make menuconfig' --------cancel 'NSA SELinux Support' and set 'SMACK support';
3、Execute the command 'make' , then 'make modules_install', last 'make install'.
4、make bzImage and copy the new kernel image to right place.
After doing this, I reboot my system and I find that SELinux has been turned off indeed but Smack doesn'twork. What can I do to solve the problem? If there is anything I left out when I set the Smack?
Hope for your help sincerely!
