Screen Flickers then Shuts Down

I tried running dmesg before it crashes put it doesn't write anything.

You should probably get Windows Assistance. They would know what is wrong. Possibly. If not then you should (if you want to use Ubuntu again) get a new laptop. That's the only solution I got. Sorry.

The latter isn't really an option right now. I'll just keep chugging at it.

Just tried it with Arch and Mint, same thing. I think I'm going to try taking apart my laptop and try to find any more subtle issues.

Or you could possibly just uninstall Ubuntu then reinstall it? Or try some different Linux program to see if that works. I'm trying my best to help. If this doesn't work I do not know what to do.

I'll try that but I don't have too much faith since it crashed before I could finish installing Arch. I appreciate your help and I'll get back with results.

Does the fan run under Linux?

Have you tried running from a Live CD/USB?

This may have something to do with the brand of fan you used.

You don't see anything in the BIOS for setting the max temps?
