Anyone able to recommend some games on Linux? So far I've gotten Luanti and I really enjoy it, but I haven't seen anything else I've liked. Any recommendations?

Any recommendations?
If you want recommendations then please name which genre do you play?

My favorite genre is 4X, grand strategy and TBS, if you have interest in these I have plenty of recommendations.

I've been using emulators and Bottles to revisit some games that I used to love. But, are those really 'on Linux'?

So, I've also been enjoying Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition that I got from GOG for an excellent price. GOG has a ton of great games that are made for Linux. You just download them and execute the .sh file to install them.

Honestly, I like a pretty wide genre of games. I usually play on console, so the ones I play most are things like Minecraft, Animal Crossing, Hollow Knight, and Zelda games.

I pretty much only use steam to get games, the proton compatibility works pretty well. recently I started playing The Doors of Trithius - it's a turn-based sort of rpg. been playing Rimworld for years.

Before I got my Nintendo Switch (I also play Animal Crossing and The Legend of Zelda), I used to also play Minecraft (I quit because of what Microsoft did with it from 2021), so perhaps you'll also like one other PC game that I used to often play: War Thunder, a free-to-play vehicular combat multiplayer video game available for Linux (in addition to several other platforms).

I recommend playing it until you stop having fun with it; I still have some fond memories of playing as Great Britain, and I might play it again if I had more free time. Understanding the meta helps you perform better, and paying for premium helps ease the grind unlocking new vehicles, but neither is necessary to have fun with it: I've enjoyed it as a very average non-premium player.

Hmmm, I have heard of that one. Would it be heavily taxing on my computer? I use a laptop with base-level ram (3GB I think) and I'm lucky that Luanti even works on it.

These are the minimum system requirements for Linux, according to War Thunder (recommended system requirements if different in brackets):

OS: Most modern 64bit Linux distributions (Ubuntu 20.04 64bit)
Processor: Dual-Core 2.4 GHz (Intel Core i7)
Memory: 4 GB (16 GB)
Video Card: NVIDIA 660 (NVIDIA 1060) with latest proprietary drivers not older than 6 months / similar AMD (Radeon RX 570) with latest proprietary drivers not older than 6 months (the minimum supported resolution for the game is 720p) with Vulkan support.
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Hard Drive: 17 GB (95 GB)

I would recommend looking up what hardware you actually use before assuming that you wouldn't be able to run it (there's not much of a difference between 3 GB and 4 GB, after all), although I think it's safe to assume that you can't have pretty visuals and a relatively good experience while playing this game.

I believe the last time I played War Thunder, I'd met these recommended requirements (I'm not sure about the video card) and I'd say that I barely got the game running smoothly with pretty visuals. Of course, beauty is subjective: I know there's a lot of gamers who prefer older games despite their graphics (old 3D models really haven't aged as well as old 2D sprites).

Evil Bank Manager was fun game:

Also:
Against the Storm
Age of Wonders 4
Unciv (FOSS game)

This are all strategies.

Well, my computer does lag when playing stuff like Luanti (or Minetest) and Super Tux Kart (which I just got off the Software Manager), so I wouldn't be optimistic.

I'll look at those. Thank you!!

Rain World
It changed my life

looks interesting - the gfx look very similar to a game i played a while back, Noita (retro/pixelated).

Yup. Descent.

It's not easy and will take a lot of perseverance to make any progress but it is SO addicting.

It's a very hardcore, 3D, First Person space shooter. It is awesome but not for everybody.

That's a blast from the past! Awesome game!
Been playing this since the late late 1990's and it's still on this computer. And in all these years after 25 odd years I STILL haven't managed to finish it.
Only one friend did a few years back after 15 years (!) of trying.

It is fantastic and just when you think you have the hang of it, POOFF you're dead (again).

Here is a game that will steal all of your time as well as sleeping time:

Game mechanics and complexity is unmatched to any other games I've played in similar genre.
Rimworld is very rich in content even though it's indie game, overwhelmingly positive steam reviews are for reason so high, the game is true gem.
