Question about mv as well PS1

After a short break from Linux due to insane amounts of homework i was finally able to find sometime and play around with it. I found a online course that was up to date and is started it. I have a few question as google does a bad job explaining it. First question is what is the difference between rm rm -f and rm -i and rm -rf. I understand they do different things but what does recursively mean and when would you use each. My second question is about PS1. It seem to me that you can change the line that shows before you type your command with PS1 by changing the variable. But i saw mine and it seems to be a mess with random stuff in it. How can you change that and where do you get those variables for PS1? Also what in the world is a absolute pathname?

This is my PS1 which i got from echo
\[\e]0;\[email protected]\h: \w\a\]${debian_chroot:+($debian_chroot)}\[\033[01;32m\]\[email protected]\h\[\033[00m\]:\[\033[01;34m\]\w\[\033[00m\]\$
