Proxychains

I am trying to run proxychains on my kali linux , but after following all the tutorials i still cannot mask my true IP Address. Commands used
:-$ sudo locate proxychains
;-$ sudo vi /etc/proxychains.conf
after this - i remove # sign from dynamic and add a new ip address and save
:-$ sudo proxychains firefox google.com
these are the steps that i took to run proxychains still i cannot mask my IP Address

I don't use proxychains on Kali Linux. But I use backbox-anonymous, have it installed on Kali and it works for me.

still i cannot mask my IP Address

Backbox-anonymous masked my IP via TOR. I tested it via deviceinfo.me. But it is slow once connected because TOR network is generally slow.

I followed this tutorial at most parts.

But I replaced

deb http://deb.torproject.org/torproject.org wheezy main

with

deb http://deb.torproject.org/torproject.org buster main

as for the rest, I followed the tutorial in the link above.
