So, in a nutshell, I want to open my Minecraft Server IP to the wild so that other people can join the server. I have no idea how to do this. Would prefer secure resolutions. Would rather not setup VPN and all that such.
 


Usually (not always) but usually this requires your ISP to allow routing to your public IP.
The big guys here in the US, (i.e. comcast, xfinity, dish, centuryLink, frontier...)
almost always block this.

to find out what your public IP is...

Usually your cable/modem/router does something called NAT'ting. (network address translation)
Typically you will be on a 10.x.x.x or a 192.168.x.x network inside your router.
These subnets are not allowed to be routed out to the internet.

Usually they charge a little (little?) bit more for a public IP address.
Then there is the question of whether you wants DNS and getting a domain registered.
