Hi guy,s here is my system info having problems with running Pronterface (Printrun) won't start up.
due to an issue with Python 3.10.
The Ubuntu packagers included the fix on Ubuntu 22.10. So any versions prior to that will have to either use the workaround or run the latest Printrun from source. Sadly, Linux Mint 21 is based on Ubuntu 22.04. Maybe ask the Linux Mint packagers (or the Ubuntu ones) to back-port the fix?
I use this for my 3D printing machines and is very important software i use.
However it will not run , only runs with a work around using terminal type " ./pronterface.py " in the dir of Printrun it starts up but that sucks don't want to leave Mint there must be something that can be done:)

Welcome to the forums.

Is it possible for you to grab a recent ISO for Ubuntu "Lunar Lobster" which should come with Python v3.11? Find an USB flash drive which is at least 16GB you're not using for anything else and copy the ISO into it, with "dd" terminal command or with a program such as Rufus available for Windows. Then boot into this OS which is a live mode. This might be worth if you have to do a quick job with this Printrun. It might suck having to set things up in the live mode otherwise.

You could get a larger USB disk and install Ubuntu or other Linux OS but many people don't like booting off "dongles" so I have stopped actively proposing it. Use the later OS only for this Printrun thing and use Linux Mint for all other things you do.

I must confess to being out of my depth here....so, take the following with a grain of salt, perhaps?

Is there anything to be gained by installing Python 3.11 ?

It is available from the Software Manager in LM21.1

I would try what @Condobloke suggested first. You may still have to use the workaround though. Mint 21.2 should be out sometime this summer but I don't know if it will incorporate the newer fix on Python.
