printer

Hello @Lovaas and welcome to linux.org :)

Are you actually using a Distribution of Linux? If so which one, eg Ubuntu 19.10?

What is the brand name and model of the printer?

You haven't told us much to go with.

And please do not report your own Threads, that is for reporting spammers and offensive material.

Thanks

I have Mint, the latest.
Ricoh SPC 440DN.
I keep getting can't get to server. This printer's not listed in the computer.
I have CUPS installed and available, but it doesn't. help load a new printer.

I watched several videos. They all ended with a hangup. I can't get "add printer".
I get the window, which says"Printers - local host". Then it says "can't connect to server".
The "+add" and "start service" and "start service" are dull and don't work.
(My scanner doesn't work either.)
If I can't use my printer, I'll go back to Windows.

G'day @Lovaas - did you download a ppd from the link Arochester gave you above?

If so, what was the outcome?

I have Mint, the latest.

Do you have 19.2 or 19.3? Is it with the Cinnamon, MATE, or Xfce desktop environment?

If you do not know, tell us the full name of the .iso you downloaded.

If I can't use my printer, I'll go back to Windows.

That does not help. Nor does posting duplicate Threads, reporting your own Thread, &c.

It only detracts from our being able to help you.

I have CUPS installed and available, but it doesn't. help load a new printer.

It can if you have the .ppd

Cheers
