I can't get my printer to print properly. I am using Zorin OS 16.2 (based on Ubuntu) and an Epson ET-2850 series ecotank printer. When I try to print something, it prints various letters, numbers, and symbols. In particular, a 5 sided figure that looks like a house is printed many times. This started happening after I changed some settings at http://localhost:631/ based on suggestions I read online when I was unable to print. I tried asking ChatGPT for help but it was not able to help me. Does anyone know how I can get it working again? Should there be particular settings in CUPS, or is there a way to reset the settings?

Hello @4096,
Welcome to Linux.org forum.
I don't know if I can be of help, since I do not have an Epson printer here, but have you tried the drivers found on this page?

That's a great suggestion! Have you tried downloading and installing the drivers from that page? You can also try resetting the CUPS settings to their default values. You can do so by running the following command in the terminal:

Code:
sudo service cups stop
sudo mv /etc/cups /etc/cups-backup
sudo apt-get purge cups
sudo apt-get install cups
sudo service cups start

After you run this command, you will need to reconfigure your printer in the CUPS web interface. Let me know if this helps!

Have a look here post 87...

Hope this helps.

I'm sorry, but that link doesn't seem to be related to your printer issue. Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with.
