Has anyone else tried "anonymous hacker simulator" or the other title "hacker simulator"?

Anonymous hacker simulator is actually allot of fun, much more fun than I expected. I definitely want to try hacker simulator next.

Some of the names for certain tools have been changed. no game is perfect at simulating the real thing, but it definitely got a few things right.

Curious if anyone has tried hack the box, or played with hacking their own virtual machines in a private lab, and how to best set that up.

Off topic:

The word "allot" doesn't mean what you think it means.

I haven't tried that particular game, but I did an online training about penetration testing and blue team in (I think it was) LinkedIn Learning.

Essentially, you build a virtual network of VMs using VirtualBox (or any other, but VB is simple to start with) and you play with Kali, Metasploit and Metasploitable (a VM based on ubuntu that is particularly exploitable, as in with deliberated flaws to lear about them) doing exercises around the topics of discovering vulnerabilities (with metasploitable) or injecting malware (using metasploit on Kali).

I'll dig out the specific modules if you're interested. They were quite good to get your feet wet on those topics.

I haven't seen any hacker simulation games and I installed every game available on Debian Linux. Is this specific to the Kali distribution? What is the name of the package? It sounds like fun.

They were actually "Learning Kali Linux" (which is not about Kali Linux itself, but about the tools it includes and how to use them in your VM lab we were discussing), and "Ethical Hacking: Hacking Web Servers and Web Applications", which double dips into applying those tools and techniques relevant to single IT applances.

Both are by Malcolm Shore.

I'm not sure how you can get into LiLe the cheapest way --I've got a subscription because I published some training there back in the day, but maybe there are trials and promotions you can leverage. If not, apologies.

It's actually available on STEAM, but as funny as it is that the system used to hack in the game (anonymous hacker simulator) is based on Linux, I don't think it supports gameplay on linux. (Some others may) So buyer beware. From what I'm seeing, only windows is supported, but if you have any tricks to get windows games to run on Linux I'm all ears.

Thanks for the info.

We have a ton of threads detailing exactly that. I don't game but the words you're looking to search for are things like 'Proton', 'WINE', 'PlaysOnLinxux'.

^Missed opportunity..
Our "tricks" are wine tricks (queue dromroll)
Unless that was the intent and the subtlety was lost on me. In which case, I'll allot at least 5min p/day per day praricing subtlery ;)

Nope. That one had just slipped my memory. As I don't deal with any of those things, that shouldn't be surprising. Ah well...
