I've never seen the point in it.

When you can run GNU/Linux, *BSD or any other *nix, why bother with a windows clone...?

  2. Very true. People that use Windows may want to try Zorin OS which was designed for Windows users learning to use Linux.

You're thinking of a different OS. ReactOS is a windows clone, written completely from scratch and is not any type of UNIX.

Perhaps you're thinking of Zorin or one of the earlier efforts to achieve the same thing?

  4. No, I was talking about ReactOS, but I see that I was wrong. Wow, on the ReactOS site, they do state the system is not Linux-based. I wonder where I got that misconception. Thanks for pointing that out.

    I edited my previous posts.

You may have been misinformed by someone else who was in turn misinformed... ;)

I think the less said about ReactOS the better...

Zorin and the like are what I would call "misconceived" because they come from the angle of "look kids it can be just like windows!".

  6. I remember now. I learned that from Wikipedia. The page has been fixed since then. That is why many people say Wikipedia is not a valid reference site. However, I still love Wikipedia and always will unless Microsoft buys it.

I'm an arch user, so naturally I don't like the concept, as the concept of my main OS it the exact opposite, honestly, I thought no one really used pinguy, the whole concept is flawed in my mind, being overly bloated just for the sake of ease? Seems pretty windows to me, but if its what you want to use, thats totally up to you, nothing wrong with it, I just don't like it.
