Hello,

I am looking for an os that boots from hard disk but loads into RAM. I understand Puppy Linux, lighthouse and others do this but(I think) you have to manually save session. Is there a distro that will save automatically? I want the high speed of ram but the convience of a conventional os to save files, bookmarks etc. Also it would be great if it was easy to install. Puppy linux seems complicated

In other words whats system can I install to hard disk to save changes that runs from my RAM and is easy to install?

Thanks

Try Knoppix. When you run it from a usb "thumb" drive, it decompresses and loads into RAM, and when on usb, it allows for persistence.
