Opening Files To Linux Apps Not Working

I've been having trouble uploading files to Linux apps on Chromebook, Blender specifically. I download the file and drag it into linux files but it still doesn't work. What do I do.

What have you done to enable your Chromebook to install Linux?

Have you seen e.g. https://chromeunboxed.com/three-ways-to-install-blender-3d-software-on-your-chromebook/ ?

I would check out the flatpak route...
