You could go to youtube and use the share link to get the URL to open in VLC. Most distributions should already let you watch youtube with the default video player for the distribution.
How do I get VLC to open video streams automatically like Adobe Flash?
In windows when on fb etc, when you click on a video Adobe flash automatically opens it and plays it.
I can't get Adobe to play on my linux but I would rather use VLC anyway.
