Office Suites for Linux

Office suites are popular types of applications used by many people. Such software is used to make presentations, reports, essays, speeches, etc. Obviously, numerous Linux users will want such software for their Linux system. Microsoft does not support Linux, so there are no Linux versions of Microsoft's Office Suite. However, here is a brief discussion on some of the available office suites for Linux.

OpenOffice (also called Apache OpenOffice) is very similar to LibreOffice and each suite module has the same name (Writer, Calc, Impress, etc.). One difference is the licensing; OpenOffice is licensed under the Apache License 2.0 while LibreOffice is licensed under the GNU LGPLv3 with new additions dual-licensed under MPL 2.0.
