My Debian-based Linux does not recognize my graphics card even though I have made all the updates. The virtual machine I use is virtualbox. I changed many settings to recognize the graphics card but the problem persists. please help my system identify my video card. The result is like this :
"lspci |grep -i vga
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: VMware SVGA II Adapter"

Are you having this problem with Debian installed to disk or running in virtualbox?

If it's running in VM then there is no physical access to GPU, if you need physical access GPU passtrough needs to be done.

But from what I see VB doesn't support this, so you'll need to use KVM\QEMU instead then follow instructions below:

I never had any luck retro gaming with a virtual machine even though i properly fallowed the instructions. If you can't play the old low-bit games, it's going to be incredibly hard to play the new games through a VM.

Start with dosbox, and get a feel for what VMs do well. They tend to have limited usage.
