Hello,

we have an EC2 instance built on RHEL 7 but we need to rebuild a new EC2 instance using RHEL 8 using all the users, applications, cron jobs and data from the old instance.
Is it possible? Can I create an Image based on what I have on the RHEL 7 and use that Image to create a new Instance on RHEL 8?

Thanks
Vali

Hire someone to do it for you.

If it was me, clone/backup your existing instance.

Do an in-place upgrade from 7 to 8.

I would have done the same. I doubt that someone that has a Rhel system running and hadn't thought of that themselves will be able to do an in place upgrade.
