  1. How do I start NetworkManager when the icon is missing in the system tray? I'm on a CentOS 6.2 workstation.

    Check that the services is running:
    ps aux|grep -i NetworkManager
    When it's running your simplly runs nm-applet or nm-tool (Not sure which was right.)
