I have just released LinuxHub Prime v2.0.0 BETA. I Need testing to work out bugs mainly on the builder part. The Installer gives you multiple desktop environments to choose from. My custom Arch Based system gives users the option to create a custom respin. This is where i really need feedback. I need to know how it works on other systems/vm's other than my own to get proper feed back and work out bugs if found. With enough feedback and bug fixes and make it official.

Here is a video to see how it works:

Here is a direct link to the ISO: Updated June 12, 2024

Any and all feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

Sorry if I posted this in the wrong section. Feel free to move at will.

v2.0.1 Official released.

@LinuxHub - I find this thread unusual on two counts -
  1. That I missed its commencement in June, and
  2. That you have had no responses, although we have numerous users of Arch and Arch-based distros
Let's remedy that.

I have downloaded 3.0.2 and verified, burnt it to a USB stick, and taken the briefest of looks.

I have included the above screenshot so that our Members and The Viewers can see what DEs are available.

I will take a look at the 2 vids you have been kind enough to provide, and go from there.

I run 65 Distros on this rig, so you could let me know whether you envisage any problems with LinuxHub sharing.

One bit of feedback so far - the loud beeping at the Grub Menu on booting the stick - Debian-like - hate that.

Cheers and I will provide more when I can.

I am currently bandwidth imporverished. Otherwise, I'd take a peek. In theory, I like Arch. In reality, I don't feel like dealing with the installer. So, I only bother with Arch derivatives.

Thank you @wizardfromoz for kindly taking a look at my project.
It should not be a problem along side your other distros. But only you would truly be able to answer that.
Personally I myself have never heard the beeping sound you speak of at the grub menu. It may be related to the mother board itself?
Due to the lack of responses/feedback I can only speak of my personal experience with it.

The Installer itself is a customized form of archinstall. I know everyone would rather I use the calamares installer but the project itself requires this customized installer to work as intended in regards to building a customized respin of your own.

Please do let me know how everything worked for you. and also if you managed to build a custom respin using the builder tool.

I really do appreciate this.

Cheers and Thanks

No joy for me so far, I'm afraid.

When I choose Cinnamon, I get the following popup window

The same applies whatever desktop I choose.

Choosing the Installation Guide opens an instance of Firefox at the video, but no sound.

I rebooted and tried with nomodeset, but no difference.

Usually after selecting desktop you should get a window to enter user info.

Yes, that I understand, and my screenshot matches that size and position, but indecipherable.

I have viewed the videos.

I used dd to burn, as I find it pretty reliable, I can burn with other methods eg
  • Suse Studio Imagewriter
  • Rosa
  • Balena Etcher
  • Linux Mint USB creator
  • I doubt Ventoy would work
Suggestions?

We crossed beams, that's dangerous according to Ghost Busters.

On my rig's HDD (Sata) which house my distros.

I have one or two distros with Virtualbox I can try

I'm going to test it out on my laptop to see what happens. see if I can produce that error and fix it. I installed plenty of times on vm's and my personal pc with no issues at all.

Sweet, I'll be in and out of distros, updating and Timeshifting snapshots, but I'll check in from time to time.

I can't commit it to hardware but I have a rather powerful homelab environment that I could do some extensive VM testing if there's a checklist of sorts that you'd like to have tested. Otherwise, I'll try to toss it into some VM's and see how it performs that way.

Keep up the good work. Don't listen to the haters, your mic is fine for all intents and purposes right now. Focus on the project, discard the haters and I can assure you, they eventually leave.

I managed to reproduce this error on a laptop 1 time. Odd because it was on like the 10th attempt of extensive testing.
I added ffmpeg, celluloid and vlc to archiso packages to hopefully fix audio issues.
to hopefully fix the image error I also added gxmessage to the archiso packages.
And I am also adding a QR code to access a video for wifi connections as a connection is 100% required for installation.
I stayed up til about midnight last night doing tests. Just got home from work so I'll report here once the new iso is ready and deployed.
Thank you guys so so much for this feedback.
