One thing that I missed from Windows is the optimized audio settings. With the proprietary drivers installed on Windows that are optimized for my machine, I get optimized sound quality along the built in equalizer settings which work great. on Linux, nothing is optimized for one machine.

So, I am in need of a nice audio equalizer, but even more than that, it would be great if there is some kind of audio optimization for my device or my integrated sound card. It seems like I have the Intel Corporation Sunrise Point-LP HD Audio (rev 21) in my HP Elitebook 840 G5 (sound card not speakers; speakers are bang and olufsen). But except that, what is a simple, yet effective audio equalizer? Currently, I use Easy Effects, but it is very advanced for me to configure. I found some presets on the internet for it, but they are not really good and all. I need something simple yet effective with pre-configured presets. I am on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, and it uses Pipewire for audio.

VLC has an EQ available that you can apply to all video and audio files in real time. If you want to record the EQ into audio you can use Audacity. You can also try QMMP for playing audio files with an EQ.

Hello Debian_SuperUser

Since Matthew Campbell recommended non-system methods I feel I can mention Firefox addons. I found 5 eq addons and so far 2 work with websites I visit.

I also use VLC and Audacity and they work great.

I have not yet found a system wide eq that works with my equipment but I will keep looking and report back if I find anything.
