brigtness works fine on my side.
I believe,there are different type of MSI 15. From this discussion, different type (different MLB) could have different issues (probably).

To be fair, I have spent exactly zero minutes worrying about it. The keyboard lights up a bright white. I'm fine with that. Last time I ran a test, I still got 7 hours of video play on a full charge. So, I'm good.
