minimum kernel version needed to boot newer hardware?

Does anyone know of a table that shows, for newer hardware versions (like Intel Meteor Lake), which linux kernel version is the minimum that will boot on that hardware and get to a point where the kernel can be upgraded (a stable root console)?
 


you need 6.9 or higher
Thanks for that! But, how did you find that out? I've had this problem more than once in the past, and would like to know if there's some online resource that gives this info.

Then I am not confident in that answer, because different links show different aspects of the answer. For instance:
And all that I am looking for is the ability to boot to a stable root console, not performance additions.

This seems like the type of thing that has to be kept as a reference somewhere...

I guess you can search around with terms of interest on the page and its links to see what it says about what you are interested in. Looking at the site today, it was last updated: "Last updated at 2024-05-29 19:01:37"
