Hi!!
I have a problem with skype:
There is an older PC with Athlon XP. Linux distro is Mageia 5 x86, freshly installed.
I use KDE display manager.
I was needed to install skype on that PC, so I installed same version as I use on my other PC:
skype 4.3.0.37, it was in plain tar.bz2 archive I got directly from m$ cite, it was something like "dynamic' version for all Linux distros. They do not show that download anymore, and looks like their new version (I never tried) is x64-only.
Unpacked as usual, tried to run from command line to test it ... oops, it crashes on startup.
ldd states, that everything needed is installed.
tried gdb, but no obvious cause was found.
no .Skype directory existed before first launch.
P.S.
It also crashed on same PC under Mageia 3 x86 long time ago. Wasn't needed skype by that time, so I decided to not investigate, sadly.
