LVM copy on write snapshots

Is it possible with RedHat 6.6, filesystem ext3, clustered servers, to set up copy-on-write snapshots (not a clone) of a filesystem. I have no control over the filesystem version, it is ext3.

The closest you are going to find is HA-LVM which does have some snapshot capabilities for cluster systems.

However, using any type of LVM Snapshot system on a cluster is not recommended. When you access the snapshot volume you will need to stop the other nodes. Basically stop the service then start it again when done. Snapshots and clusters do not work well together unless they are a node-by-node basis with a file system that supports snapshots itself such as BTRFS or ZFS.
