I'm looking for a new laptop (dual boot with windows and linux) that supports at least 2 external monitors as I do development work. Graphics aren't super critical. I watch Netflix occasionally so a nice resolution would be an added bonus. I would assume anything purchased today will have good graphics. It's more important that the graphics support the multiple external monitors. Price range is $700 - $800 USD ish......

I see comments from people that thinkpads work with linux but no specific models. I'm not very fond of Dell. I used them at work and wasn't impressed, but I won't rule them out.

Any suggestions from someone that has a new model laptop with 2 external monitors actually running on one of the more popular linux versions?

If graphics are important, I would get a laptop with a discrete video card. ( Nvidia or Radeon )
If all you do is watch movies and videos, an integrated graphics chip is likely good enough.
The last two laptops I bought didn't even have hdmi or display ports on them at all.
They had multiple USB-c ports, and come with USB-c to hdmi adapters.

As for laptops compatible with Linux. I've had good luck with dell, asus, acer, lenovo, and sony.
The HP I had was OK, but the wi-fi chipset didn't work. The Toshiba I had, had a funky UEFI/BIOS
that wasn't 100% compatible with EFI net boot. But that was several years ago, I'm sure they're
better now.

For the most part Linux will run on any computer that windows does. Chromebooks are not recommended.
The one gotcha with Linux laptops is the wi-fi chipset. But that has gotten better over the years as well.
I would say about 90% of the wi-fii chipsets work with most distro that run at least a 6.x kernel.

picked up a refurbished Lenovo t470 for ~$150 or so about a year ago - it's not new (well, new to me), have had zero issues with it.

I couldnt really say how well HP's hardware would respond to linux or I'd recommend it, their business line of laptops are pretty nice, hardware wise.
