Just login in failsafe session , and reinstall the driver and gdm , or kdm , or xdm...any login manager!

try a remote login , ssh or telnet , and reinstall gnome....

There could be two reasons that is forcing You to login in failsafe mode and not letting you work in Normal mode for more than 10 seconds.
First,as I gone through your device specification you are using a ATI garphics and at the time of installing Your graphics drivers something went wrong with X11/Xorg.conf file and that is the reason of the problem of failsafe mode so please reconfigure it properly to make it work.
Second, If you are using default drivers and You know everything is ok with Xorg file please check shell startup files like /etc/profile and /etc/bashrc might be someone have made changes in that.
