Greetings to all,
Need help with choosing a 'lightweight' distro for my hardware (specs below)
Hp Presario CQ 71 Celeron Dual-Core? CPU T3000 @ 1.8GHz 3Gb RAM 64 Bit (OS Widows 7)
HP Pavilion 590-p0xxx CPU Intel 6 core? i5-8400 @ 280 GHz 8Gb RAM
Came with Widows 10 installed ( No Windows 10 disc - factory refurbished 2nd hand buy from eBay )
After some unsuccessful distro installs on the HP Desktop 'puter mint, then I no longer have any OS on said desktop Oooooops! Wiping installed Windows 10 OS 'trying to install various linux distros
I'm using the Presario Windows 7 laptop for the internet ( VodafoneMobileWiFi... w.w.w. Linux info & HELP ) I have not attempted any distro installs on the Compaq
Currently have mx linux 19 patito feo running (almost... sigh!)
It seems a bit complicated for my skill level which I must state is extremely low re. linux I have nil experience
re leightweight distro
I'm looking for 'anoutofthebox' to connect Vodafone WiFi (youtube, email, some word processing, and watching down'd flicks/tv and listening to music. I'm not interested in tinkering under the hood ...If it works leave it alone
So, have at it... feel free to make other suggestions if you feel I'm missing an 'excellent distro'
A 'very Merry... to all, TTFN jo
PS I was also curious about antix but was a little put off by the 'windows manager' operation Yup, I also saw the rants about 'communism' LOL no problem
