Linux

Linux is a Kernel built by Linus Torvalds in 1991 I think - it becomes of an OS when it has GNU/Linux (pronounced Ga-New) GNU stands for GNU is not Unix. GNU is an operating system that is free software that is bundled with the Kernel. The Linux kernel by itself does not make a working operating system - most use the term “GNU/Linux” to refer to systems that many people casually refer to as “Linux”

@BOS-DRK I'm guessing your next question would be so what makes one linux distro different from another ?

This is where DuckDuckGo is your friend. ;)
