The only reason I still have (had) Windows on my pc was VR. Considering the fact that I had an aged 'ole rift, its time to let it go. I've had it for a long time now, and the thread with which I was hanging on to it was the fact that it still works perfectly. Well, as of this year, the proprietor of the rift has committed one final act of disrespect that has severed the thread for me by trying to force to use a privacy disrespecting interface in its day to day use.
Placing my incensement aside, I could have used it on Linux, but that would mean compiling myself an open source driver which was discontinued in development and heavily bugged.
And as I look forward, why not contemplate a purchase of a VR headset that may work on Linux. I know there are some out there that people got working with Linux, so which one do you feel might cause the least amount of hassle when getting it to work?
