Hi all, im currently running Ubunbtu linux Ver 24.04.1 on my Lexar NM790 SSD NVMe M.2 drive and its been great, but im trying to install Linux mint on it but i have had trouble in the past getting it to recognize this ssd for some reason..

my question is when would i be able to get mint onto this ssd since i assume mint will eventually get this drive? Not too much of a fan on ubuntu..

thanks

sorry my crystal ball is in for servicing

If you are running Mint 21/22 then it should have the same drivers as Ubuntu, and as your ssd works in Ubuntu
,
Why Linux fails to load/install direct to HDD, common reasons
1] Corrupt download [check SHA sum]
2] bad burn to installation medium [try again] [if you used Rufus then try Balena Etcher]
3] Wind 8.2 and higher quick start/fast boot or secure boot not disabled [doesn't normally apply to older versions]
4] defective pen-drive/DVD
5] hardware fault,

i did i check on the install, re flashed it to a drive and it still wont pick up this ssd.. is it because ubuntu is still on it?

when i did it on ubuntu is passed but when i tried it on the mint live usb the drive name that it is in ubuntu has been switched to the windows ssd ( ubuntu is on the nvme1n1 drive bbut when on the live usb the nvme1n1 drive is now the windows drive)

Not a problem I have ever had... "Thinks!!!!"
ubuntu has been switched to the windows
Have you recently run any Windows updates recently ? The latest batch have caused several different problems to Linux
one thing to check is secure boot and Quick-start are both still disabled. [some Windows updates will re-enable them], also some can change the grub.
