I have had a few problems with it. But I would ask, what do you want to accomplish by doing this?
If you want to transfer files, there are other simpler ways.

FTP, SCP, NFS, or Samba

I've had very good luck formatting USB drives in Linux with fat32 or exfat, and using those drives
in Windows systems. I haven't have very good luck putting xfs, btrfs, or ext4 drives in Windows.
The ext4 drives, will usually mount and be recognized, but copying large files often crashes.
I've never been able to open two consoles and do two different things at the same time on the same drive. (ext4 under windows)

Or you can mount the ntfs filesystem under GNU/Linux with the ntfs-3g driver.

My experience with ext2fsd is that either it works flawlessly, or it doesn't work at all. I was able to install it on some older PCs, but my Windows 10 laptop wouldn't actually load the drives, even though ext2fsd claimed to be running fine.

I would suggest installing it and seeing if it actually works. It's worth a shot!
