i mainly use them for programming distro with good interfaceWelcome to the forums
Recommending a distro is difficult, what suits Me, Georgio, or Kevin , will not necessarily suite you,
with over 500 distributions from general everyday use to specialist scientific there should be one out there for you, your decision should be based on what you want to achieve, and the age/specification of your kit.
We strongly suggest you download and try a selection of builds live to see if they are compatible with your kit, and that you like the feel/look of what you choose,
there are several we do not recommend for the novice, Kali being one of them.
So tell us a bit more about what you want to do with your linux instillation and the make/model of your kit [and any modifications]
Good Luck in your search, I'm sure you will find the one eventually that suits you and your computing needs. My personal advice is to try several on live usb sticks and see if one of them peeks your interest. Finally, an attempt to answer to the age old question: Which Linux distro is the best?
