linux as a router?

For the most part Untangle is a software/hardware tool. Untangle has many configurable from a gui interface that can be done to nanny-tize the whole house. You can lock it down tight, or loosen just a little and keep the kids and you safe. It will also report what computer has visited what site, blocked attacks, and many, many more features. It is free for home users. If you do load it out, you will have a chance to get the free or download the paid versions, there is more than one. Just the free will do all the above. You burn it to dvd and install it on a spare pc. Don't need no monitor or keyboard, but will need two network cards. One to accept input from the router and the second to provide the internet to the house via a switch. Once running you can access it via it's ip address and login and configure.
