I don't believe Microsoft as a benefactor bone in its body. Everything is about money and they are savy in their approach. Tech guys are highly focused and can do things the rest of us normal guys can't. However there has been it seems a history of naivety and poor business models within the open source community.

I agree Microsoft's whole purpose is about making money no argument here.

I don't have any worries or concerns and I don't see the Linux community allowing Microsoft to shut down Linux as to much electronics relies on the Linux kernel.

Guess we have to wait and see what develops between the two.
