Lenovo Thinkpad P15V running hot without high CPU usage

Recently got my new Thinkpad P15v Gen 3 with Intel Core i7-12700H. Installed Debian with Cinnamon on it. CPU's consumption isn't too high, but I can hear that cooler is working.

I also put here sensors output. Seems like CPU has about 45-50 C when idle. I have one plugged monitor, opened Tabby with SSH connections and Firefox with several tabs.

Is it because of Alder Lake architecture or my laptop has really bad cooling system and I should refund my money? Which temperature starts degradation of CPU from?

Your temps are normal for a laptop, also Intel can withstand higher temps without any issues.

If during gaming CPU temp goes above 80C then it's too high, but up to 80C for games is fine.
Same for GPU, but up to 90C, anything more that that is too high.

In applying for a refund, be prepared for some push back......I would argue that it is not fit for purpose.

Yes, the top of case is running hot. It doesn't burn my hands, but I can feel that's hot.

I suggest you do and see how temps go while gaming.

Run a game that is intensive....if it becomes uncomfortable hot...return it. Not fit for purpose.

Thanks. I've searched info about this one, I've also asked on Reddit about this one and they said me that laptop is good. I have several more Thinkpads to compare, I'll post new thread about them soon.
