Hi there,

I followed the instructions in this video:

Everything worked well till I had to launch Mint on the VirtualBox Manager (approx. 8 min. in the video).
I am using Windows 7 and the Oracle VM Virtualbox Manager. My settings are as shown in the screenshot MintLaunch.
When I push start Screenshot MintLaunch1 and aftewards MintLaunch2 happens. And then nothing.

What can I do to make it work?

Thanks a lot.

Hi!
First of all, you need to set the Linux iso file as a cd, not as a hard drive.

I would also recommend to increase the size of the virtual harddisk, 10gb is little small.

Then when you're starting up the VM, it will boot from the cd, and then you will get the option to install Linux Mint on your computer (VM).

I'm myself also running linux mint 19.2 on oracle VM on my Windows 7 machine..

Hi there,

thanks for your fast reply!
I put the virtual harddisk to 20gb. I guess this should be okay? (Screenshot MintLaunch4).
But I have no idea where I can find the settings to set Linux iso as a cd. I tried this version (check out Screenshot MintLaunch3), but it didn't work out. Could you send me a sreenshot of where I can find them?
I downloaded Mint as a file and it is on my windows desktop.

Regards

Sure, remove the live cd/DVD , and then click on the cd icon.
Select your Linux iso file, and start the system.
Afterwards the installation is finished, you can change back to live-cd

I hadn't ticked the Live-CD/DVD option before. I just did it in my second post, because I thaught it would help.
I unticked the box an reloaded the iso file. Still nothing.

Did you remove the faulty ide drive?
You might need to add a cd/DVD to your controller.. (see my screenshots)

Why is my IDE File faulty? My screenshot and yours seems the same to me. When I remove linuxmint-19.2-cinnamon-32bit.ios from the Controller: IDE it gives me this error Screenshot MintLaunch.7
If not the iso mint file I downloaded, what should I load instead?

Sorry, I saw wrong..
You have an cd attached, and you attached it from the cd icon I showed you?

Where are that iso file from?, Is it bootable?
Maybe you need to download a new version from https://linuxmint.com/download.php

I got my version from this site. I downloaded cinammon 32-bit.
It has nothing to do with 32 or 64 bit right?
I think I will start from the beginning with the tutorial above.

thank you for beeing so patient. I went through the tutorial again and either I did something wrong the first time or I was not patient enough. It is working now! I am happy!
