So I installed Debian on a KVM QEMU Virt Manager machine, and it’s got copy/paste functionality between the VM and host using “spice-agent” and NAT networking. When it starts up though, we get this friendly warning:

“Your system is currently running without video hardware acceleration.
You may experience poor performance and high CPU useage.”

With a sound/video mismatch lag on video, especially video streaming like Youtube. But here’s the problem…

To enable video acceleration, Virt Manager errors claim it doesn’t work unless I switch to a mode other than virtio. (and it won’t let me try)
But I need virtio mode to get spice-agent to let me copy and paste. So the problem boils down to how to have both copy/paste functionality and fix the video lag.
