Hello Tech's:

My Asus X555DA turn off monitor when unplugged from AC adaptor, but it return when I plugged back.

If it is connected to other monitor, just the lapttop monitor turn it off, I can work on the monitor "normal".

The laptop monitor is not going disable, because when I work with extended screen, the Monitor System Settings still detected, but it is completely black / off.

I found several web pages, all related to Windows 10, of this problem is because the refresh rate when switch on battery mode, or the charging battery parameters.

My PC data:
OS Kubuntu 22,4 LTS
Model Asus X555DA-BB11 (X555 Series)
Processor AMD A10-8700P 4 x 1.8 - 3.2 GHz, Carrizo
Graphics adapter AMD Radeon R6 (Carrizo) - 512 MB VRAM, Core: 626 MHz, Memory: 667 MHz, DDR3, 15.201.1101.1002
Mainboard AMD CZ FCH

Did it need battery driver update?
How to update the battery driver?
How to troubleshoot where is really the problem?

I locked your other post that was asking the same thing.

There's no need to double-post. Thanks.

KGIII, thanks for your feedback, I'm so newbee on this platform of I don't realize of posted two times.

How can I delete the first post?

To test your battery in a terminal, run the following in order

sudo apt install acpi
then
acpi -a [power adaptor needs to be plugged in and switched on]
then
acpi -b [this will test just the battery]
then
acpi -bi [this gives a little more information]

Dear Brickwizard:
Thanks for you support, I was aware of my battery is defective, partially because I can not unpplug from AC power.
This is the result of the command.
$ acpi -bi
Battery 0: Discharging, 0%, rate information unavailable
Battery 1: Not charging, 100%
Battery 1: design capacity 4911 mAh, last full capacity 1831 mAh = 37%
Battery 2: Discharging, 0%, rate information unavailable

How I can avoid of my laptop monitor go off/black?

You have a defective battery and you still think software will fix it?

@BigBadBeef, Please read my post, because I can not unplug my notebook, the battery goes defective.

I want to correct the defective behavior of my notebook before a new battery will become defective too, I will appreciate the assistance.
