Found 2 release pages for Ubuntu and the Kubuntu 22.04

The EOL for Ubuntu is between 2026 and 2028.

The Kubuntu Upgrade from 20.04 to 22.04 shows that Jammy Jellyfish is supported until 4/2025.

I need to know before I help someone do a backup and perform the upgrade on their custom built desktop.

Can someone please clarify for me the correct support date for Kubuntu 22.04:-?

Ubuntu has a 5 year support life , but the others Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Lubuntu, ETC. only have 3 years. That is from date of issue so 2025 would be correct.

Kinda... Ubuntu has up to a 10 year support cycle with ESM with Advantage or Pro I think they're calling it now. I haven't gone through that to see what changes were made.

And, while it says Pro, it's free for five personal devices and has some great features like live-patching the kernel with security fixes.

I'd suggest reading official notes rather than 3rd party posts.

In one of the Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS Release announcement pages is

Kubuntu 22.04.2 LTS, Ubuntu Budgie 22.04.2 LTS, Ubuntu MATE 22.04.2 LTS, Lubuntu 22.04.2 LTS, Ubuntu Kylin 22.04.2 LTS, Ubuntu Studio 22.04.2 LTS, and Xubuntu 22.04.2 LTS are also now available. More details can be found in their individual release notes (see ‘Official flavours’):

Maintenance updates will be provided for 5 years for Ubuntu Desktop, Ubuntu Server, Ubuntu Cloud, and Ubuntu Core. All the remaining flavours will be supported for 3 years. Additional security support is available with ESM (Extended Security Maintenance).

Kubuntu's docs do not differ

Support lifespan

Thanks guys I needed confirmation on that.
