Hello,
I'm having an issue where i create a custom resolution using xrandr, i'm trying to set 1920x1080_75.00 which i did successfully, however when i try to enable that refresh rate me screen flickers horrifically, it makes me feel sick to look at it, so i wait for it to change back and then weird green lines flick up then away, i switch it to 50Hz then back again and it's fixed, any idea as to why this occurs, i'm running a ubuntu based distro, 18.04 lts (Zorin os 15).
Specs:
CPU : R5 1600x
GPU : RX 580
Thanks,
Gabriel John Caddy

Propably your monitor doesn't support 75Hz

I've got 90hz on windows but turned it down to 75hz because blacks aren't great above 75hz I know it can achieve this refresh rate.

Hi,
Is this resolution detected when using xrandr without parameter ? Can you give us the output ?

I just changed my resolution from 1080x1920 to 1080x1920 and it happens, it seems to be that when i change resolution, so i went into the recovery terminal and reset my xrandr, forgetting that that resets everything, so now it outputs:

I was in the recovery kernel when i loaded into zorin os, so the graphics card was just a default output, i've come out and i've fixed the issue.
1). I reset xrandr by "xrandr -s 0"
2). Then "sudo gedit ~/.profile"
3). Deleted the lines to do with monitor overclock, then just followed the instructions again and they worked
Thanks for your help,
Gabriel Caddy
