Issue with Clonezilla Live disk image recovery/create

here's my take
users want to be able to:
create a bootable USB flash drive
&
store compressed partition data on that stick
all under Linux not windows

most USB boot stick programs will wipe the drive and create either
UDF
iso
that means the drive can not be repartitioned.

programs that can install to an USB partition
tuxboot
unetbootin

the notes I have on clonezilla
record it works with
tuxboot
I will try it unetbootin700

step 1
boot into linux
run gparted
create or resizestick partition 1 to be big FAT32 lba boot flag
and leave 4GB at end of stick format that ext4

run tuxbot or unetbootin700
install clonezilla to partition 2

reboot to USB stick
mount partition 1 as VFAT your destination
