Just so happens to occur right after the the final day of the RNC convention. Amazing timing.

George Kurtz, the CEO of CrowdStrike, has released a statement on X, formerly Twitter, confirming that the outages experienced worldwide are the result of "defect found in a single content update for Windows hosts".

He confirmed the outages were not the result of a security incident or cyberattack.
CrowdStrike is actively working with customers impacted by a defect found in a single content update for Windows hosts. Mac and Linux hosts are not impacted. This is not a security incident or cyberattack. The issue has been identified, isolated and a fix has been deployed. We…

Maybe not but i've got a hanful Plan-B alternatives ready to take over and i'm pretty much confident not having the crow thing intentionally installed to begin with, or it's time to seek alzheimer treatment...

Nothing changes for me. I doubt though that if potentially this was a hack we will learn about this.
 
Courts and 2 of the major hospital's were down in my area.

I suspect more folks will be moving to Linux after this.Of course, time will inevitability show that......and the Linux Forums will have a lot more new users.

I doubt it. None of the previous issues that costed a lot induced move.

Again, time will tell.

It's been my experience that when the pocketbook's of folks get effected they will learn and change the way they protect their investments.
