Hi, the problem got resolved when I installed kernel version 4.11 from update manager of linux mint 20 UMA. Even the HDMI is giving proper audio output and screen resolution of 1920 x 1080. It is properly able to detect my Sony TV. Many other resloutions are also available. @zonley Hope it is useful for you. Thanks for posting.
