First, you can't install any desktop in other desktop, what you can and probably did, is install Plasma alongside Cinnamon, in your distro, which is ... ? You didn't say. So, tell us what distro using Cinnamon is this you installed Plasma too and how you did that; via terminal? Synaptic? And then we can provide you with some advice on how to solve your issue. Also, it'd be helpful if you tell us about your screen/monitor; make, model and screen resolution support. It would be helpful too, to know what the GPU specs are, is it AMD, Intel or Nvidia?

For future reference, you may wish to see the first link in my signature.

Distro: Cinnamon
Sorry, but cinnamon is not a distro, it is a desktop environment https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinnamon_(desktop_environment) which is available to install in most distros; Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, openSUSE, Arch ... So, can you tell us please what distro is cinnamon installed on? Check in system info, or open the terminal and type
Code:
inxi -S
And post the output here. Until we know that, we can't do pretty much anything but guess, we could do that of course, but chances are we might be wrong, besides, it'll be so much easier knowing that info.

Host: nasser-ThinkCentre-M93p Kernel: 5.4.0-66-generic x86_64 bits: 64
Desktop: Cinnamon 4.8.6 Distro: Linux Mint 20.1 Ulyssa

Much better :) So it is Linux Mint with Cinnamon, I had a hunch it was that.
Monitor: Sony tv
Resolution: 1360x768
Is this the max resolution the Sony TV supports? Is this a laptop? While connected to your Sony TV, open a terminal and type this:
Code:
xrandr
Hit enter, copy and post the output here. I think that the problem might be in the resolution set; you're using the max res your laptop's screen supports, while the Sony TV probably needs to be set to use something else, I might be wrong though, since I don't use cinnamon or Mint and don't have a Sony TV. The output of xrandr might just tell us whether or not I am.
